We are always relating. With every step, we enter a quiet conversation with ground… with every breath, an exchange with the air around us. Even in simple gestures, like reaching for a cup, we find ourselves in a wordless dialogue with gravity, ground, and air. How we relate to them - and with them - builds the ground from which we relate to others.
In our day to day lives, we can find ourselves distracted and disconnected. We fall into habitual and rote patterns that color our interactions and relationships. Then, at other times, we are able to engage in presence, yet words escape us.
In this workshop, we will work with building bridges between the experiential and language, finding words to say what truly matters and learning to listen more deeply to what is arising.
Ann Augustine, LICSW, has worked as a psychotherapist for over 25 years with a focus on trauma and substance use. She is influenced by mindfulness and somatic work as well as by her studies of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and taoism – elements of which she incorporates in her practice and in her life.
